Its goal is to make an individual perfect. Every society gives importance to education because it is a panacea for all evils. It is the key to solve the various problems of life.
Derivational meaning of education ( EDU-CYCLE MODEL):-
Etymologically the term education is derived from different Latin words. Such words represent an edu-cycle.
The Edu- cycle represents the following ideas,i.e.
(A) EDUCARE- The Latin word educare means "to lead out", it means that to bring up a child, keeping in view certain aims and ideals.
(B) EDUCERE- The Latin word educere means "to draw out" or "to bring forth", it means to bring out the best in a child and a man, instead of "to put in".
(C) EDUCATUM- The Latin word educatum implies "the act of teaching" or "training".
(D) EDUCO(E+DUCO)-"E" Means out of and "DUCO" Means" to lead so educo means the internal potentialities are to the made external.
(E) EDUCATUS- The Latin word educatus means "to educate", it means that education is one that educates the child as an individual to be a producer as well as a good citizen.
(F) EDUCATIO- The Latin word educatio means "a breeding" or "a bringing up", it means education manifests what is inherent in a child.
so, finally, to conclude as a whole, education is the intellectual, moral and physical consisted of leading out the innate knowledge, virtues, and power of the child, making the potential actual.
